Science in the Kindy Garden

As a Kindy teacher, I am fortunate to see wonder and a love for nature in all children. We care for and cuddle the animals, providing them with warmth in winter and cool water and shade through summer. We empty the stinky compost to feed our gardens so they may sing through spring. We save the pumpkin seeds from soup day to plant later when the weather is milder. Science is the act of observing, questioning and collecting data. In the Kindy garden and through imaginative play, the children are given the time to absorb, explore and find wonder in their physical world.

This is Science in Kindy! It is all around us and unfolding naturally each day.
