Winters Night, June 2021

Can there be a better time to light a candle, sing for beauty, carry a lighted lantern into the darkness? In the Winter’s Night celebration, may we align our inner light to the soul of the world and the song of the earth. And as we go into the winter break, can each candle we light become an action of kindness toward another?

In many traditions around the world, the cosmological worldview was that human effort was needed to support the sun’s renewal so that light and warmth could return to the land and its peoples. It is a thought lost in our western way of thinking but we could reclaim it, become helpers of the sun in this time of “renewal”.  Light a candle, action a kindness, for planet and people.
