The workshop will include writing poetry and working up a piece for performance.<br><br>Slam Poetry is all about powerfully finding voice and storytelling. It is about courage and connection and performing for an audience. It is also about listening, making space to hear the voices of those around us and the diversity of perspectives they hold.<br><br>The workshop will be followed by a community Poetry Slam on Friday 16<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0August 6 &#8211; 8pm. Please come along, bring a poem, a story or a song (anything you can perform without instruments and props), or join the audience and cheer on your friends!<br><br>The local Poetry Slam Heat will be held at the Cultural Centre in Katoomba on the 22<sup>nd\u00a0<\/sup>August 6:30pm. <a href=\"https:\/\/nsw.us16.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=4fd16fa15a7eac1a3e4e390cb&amp;id=a1b3cdacaf&amp;e=0ed5202ba6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Blue Mountains \u2013 APS Heat (NSW) \u2014 Australian Poetry Slam<\/a>. The winner goes on to compete in the next heat.
