The children have designed and begun to sew their very own unique dolls, and each doll is taking on its own character stitch-by-stich. Handwork is a core part of the Steiner curriculum and supports the children to find joy in creating things that are both useful and beautiful. Handwork builds on hand-eye coordination, self-confidence, patience, perseverance, focus, creativity, and resourcefulness. I have enjoyed listening to the children excitedly plan out which accessories their dolls will need to have and how to make them.
