This play originated in our science lesson \u2018The Rock Cycle\u2019. Following the stories of different rock people the, students entered the world of geology. They discovered the way different rocks are formed and the environments in which they are created. For example, our Limey Limestones built the foundations of limestone by laying down pieces of coral and shell in the lagoons of the tropics. The Sandy Beaches carry the crystals from the cliffs of the Blue Mountains down the valley in the rivers until they reach the ocean where they will again become part of sandstone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u2018Rock n Roll Play\u2019 allowed the children to become a rock character. They came up with hand movements that best expressed their character\u2019s journey and experimented with different ways of speaking to capture their character\u2019s personality.
