It was begun in celebration of the school\u2019s 21st Birthday in 2021 and completed in early 2022. The naming of the baya budbili (talking rug in dharug dalang) was given by Dharug elder Aunty Corina Norman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The central motif of the flannel flower was chosen as a symbol of the Blue Mountains in recovery and restoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During 2020 the school community was experiencing the aftereffects of the bush fires and the ongoing isolation created by the pandemic. The flannel flower seeds are germinated by smoke. It\u2019s petal like bracts invite touch, something we all craved during social distancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Baya Budbili is hanging in the window of Lyttleton Stores for the month of July during their Community Resilience Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Baya budbili is a community artwork made by the students, families and staff of Kindlehill School.
