{"id":10578,"date":"2021-03-22T09:45:07","date_gmt":"2021-03-21T22:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/khpost.test.pallasmarketing.com\/?p=10578"},"modified":"2021-03-22T09:45:07","modified_gmt":"2021-03-21T22:45:07","slug":"ganguddy-field-trip-march-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/khpost.test.pallasmarketing.com\/?p=10578","title":{"rendered":"Ganguddy Field Trip, March 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three days at\u00a0Ganguddy\u00a0(Dunn\u2019s Swamp) was an opportunity to further our ecology studies into swamp communities; and to immerse ourselves in nature, experiencing our embeddedness in the inter-relationship of all life.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We kayaked the Cudgegong River, sketched on the Pagoda trail and captured our thoughts and feelings in reflective writing and sharing sessions.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>We also did some preparation for the Adventurous Journeys component of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, learning wilderness first aid and basic bush navigation.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students spoke about&nbsp;how&nbsp;grounded and calm they felt in the natural landscape of&nbsp;Ganguddy, of the beauty and specialness of this place. It was also fun, adventurous, and just plain wholesome!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reflections by Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Rocks worn and woven by time. On the horizon tall mountains tower over the rolling hills. Atop the mountains, trees of charcoal\u202fforged in flame still reach for the sky. Beneath\u202fthe mountains and the rolling&nbsp;<\/em><em>hills,<\/em><em>&nbsp;the water flows, cutting through the landscape.&nbsp;<\/em><em>It\u2019s<\/em><em>&nbsp;majestic presence, a scar, a reminder\u202fof our impact.\u202f<\/em><em>\u202f<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kasper\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>I look and I see\u202fa world before me, a glistening body of water and an ominous tree. A balance of rock and water, dark and light,\u202fone but different.<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>I feel<\/em><strong><em>\u202f<\/em><\/strong><em>the sun on my back the wind on my face and the rock beneath me.\u202fThe bird\u2019s\u202fsong echoes through me,\u202fbanishing my worries, making me calm. I feel the cool water as it is carried by the breeze and the comfort given to us by the rays of the sun.
